April 2017

In April, co-op resumed and CYT went into full swing.  I was also blessed to have lunch with a couple of friends, something I haven't done much the last several months.  The three big events were Greg's weeklong trip to Romania, my niece's birthday party, and Easter.  Since the vast majority of Greg's pictures are of buildings whose details I don't remember, I have asked him to do the posts about his trip.  That is partly why I am extra late getting April's update out.  Unfortunately, the man is always busy!  I don't know when it will happen, so I'll go ahead and put up a couple pics and hope he will get to it one day.  :)

At the airport in Amsterdam.  Love the gigantic potted plants in the eatery!

Exploring the streets with his uncle (in black).

The one food Greg has remembered and missed and talked about the most from his childhood is these little sausages called mititei.  He had them not once, but twice!

My sister-in-law and I have something in common.  We both plan elaborate parties!  The tea party she threw for their two-year-old was amazing.  She's also good at making cakes and cupcakes.  The little cake she made for my niece was beautiful.

Easter was a bit downplayed due to it being so close to Greg's return from Romania.  He had severe jet lag, and it took him more than a week to recover.  I made a special breakfast of Haitian French toast (OJ in the batter) and sausage.  Kylen got a new t-shirt and game.  It was a nice, quiet day at home.  :)

Star Trek Ascendancy was difficult for us to learn, and the jury is still out on whether we like it.  There's too much randomness.  Even after making several modifications, we found ourselves getting frustrated by the lack of balance.  Hopefully we'll find a way to make it work, because we like the idea of it.  I don't like that it takes up most of our table though!
