Greg's Birthday 2017

Family from my side had a wedding reception in Missoula on Greg's birthday.  Kylen couldn't go, because he had a couple performances that day.  So we decided to splurge and rent a sport's car.  We figured it was the perfect time for multiple reasons.  Kylen wouldn't need to be cramped in the backseat, we'd actually spend a significant amount of time in the car - three hours each way, the weather was beautiful, and it would make Greg's day more special.  Turns out, it was a good decision!

There aren't a lot of options here for sport's car rentals.  After shopping around, Greg discovered a place near the airport that had a few.  Unfortunately, after promising us a specific mustang convertible, Greg drove over to discover they gave it to someone else.  Instead, we got a Dodge Challenger, which wasn't a bad option.  We were just a little disappointed after setting our hearts on a mustang.

A yellow triangle on the side mirror lit up to warn us whenever a car came close on that side.

Based on online reviews, we decided to stopover for lunch at The Fainting Goat in Wallace.  The food was fresh, homemade, and surprisingly high quality for a small town.

The best part was having a long, relaxing meal outside on a beautiful day!  This was our view looking towards the street.

Interesting sink in the bathroom.

I wouldn't call the food "amazing", but I'd definitely eat there again!

We had a nice time visiting at the wedding reception and getting to know the groom, who we hadn't met yet.

The reception was held on the grounds of the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula.  We got a few pictures of the train as we were leaving.

And then stopped by this coffee shop for drinks.  They were delicious!

We got home late, so Greg opened his cards and gifts the next day.

I thoroughly enjoyed his birthday, and I think he did too!  :)

Open Arms Fundraiser 2017

I enjoyed the Open Arms fundraiser so much last year, that I began looking for information about it around the same time.  There seemed to be no mention of it continuing, and I gave up.  A few months later, a friend told me they were still having one, but it got moved to a later date.  I'm glad I got to go!  There were far fewer auction items, but it was still a great event.  Some friends and my sister-in-law even joined me!  The theme was Back to the Garden.

Our table.

I would still love to host a table in the future.  Maybe next year!

Tulips

Greg captured these pictures of our tulips in full bloom.

Of course, he couldn't resist a shot of the basketball hoop.  Lol.

Tea House

I tried out a new tea place with a friend!  Wonderful company and a lovely experience.  I'll definitely be going back!

Mother's Day 2017

I had a wonderful Mother's Day!  We started out with our annual breakfast at the CDA Resort.

I sure do love this boy!

Greg's plate.

Always wanted to try dragon fruit.  The taste was mild with a hint of sweetness.

My honey.  :)

We walked around the shop area.  This is outside the toy store.

A vintage toy display was neat!

These little boxes of candy were so cute, I had to take one home.  Orange was a good choice!

Rain, rain.

I finally got to visit a friend's shop in an antique store!

It was fun spying out the Mother's Day touches here and there.

A few more items from the candy store.  The banana pecan caramel was amazing!!

A great way to conclude the day: cards from my boys.  :)
